8/12/08 Gracie's has ruined Paris for us!! My wife and I enjoyed a tasting at Gracie's a couple of years ago and loved the experience and food. We are only in the Providence area once a year. Although the price was above what we normally spend for dinner- we had no regrets as we had a wonderful time! The entire staff seemed to wait on us- not that we were demanding, they were just that nice. The food was beyond what I could ever imagine what food could taste like and literally experience! Just this past Spring, I took my wife to Paris for Valentine's Day (instead of Gracie's)- actually for the weekend, but it was a surprise to her- of our 17 years of marriage to do something so out of the ordinary for us. I even splurged and had reservations at Jules Verne restaurant on the second level of the Eiffel Tower. Seeing the limited menu choices, we decided to get the tasting- hoping we would have a similar experience as Gracie's. Wine was abundant, but for an additional charge. While we had a wonderful time in Paris, we could find nowhere that could produce Foie Gras as well as Gracie's. And after receiving the bill from Jules Verne- which came out to almost 3 times more expensive than our experience at Gracie's- we will definitely be back to Gracie's. Gracie's experience is second to none, the pricing is well worth every minute of not only the food and wine, but for the incredible knowledge we gained just by dining there. Many thanks to the Gracie's staff for providing us with a wonderful time that we are certain to enjoy upon repeat visits. Brian Hamfeldt, Chattanooga, TN
10/17/07 "I had meant to send this a little while back, however timing was off. With that said I wanted to again extend my thanks for an amazing meal and an unforgettable night. I was back in town for a week and wanted to take my father out for his birthday and made a decision to try Gracie's and this couldn't have been a more perfect choice. I realize compliments do not help much but hopefully they at least boost morale. I help manage chef Govind Armstrong's Table 8 in Los Angeles and recently accepted a server position at chef David Myers new brasserie; Comme Ca and at both places I have mentioned Gracie's and the experience I had in terms of really feeling cared about, something I feel is most important. The thank you note was a warm touch. I am heading back to Rhode Island for the holidays and look forward to another memorable night with you and very anxious to try the winter tasting menu. Thank you once again" Jared Melei
8/4/07 "Let me begin by saying that Gracie's is the best restaurant in Providence. My girlfriend Kristen and I have dined at many "fine dining" establishments and none quite compare. The welcoming staff took prompt phone reservations and also welcomed us for my delicious birthday dinner in early June. We enjoyed the seven course tasting from Chef Joe Hafner. His inspiration truly comes from the seasonal ingredients around him. I have tended to urban agriculture in providence during my four years in the city in the form of community gardening and can attest to his menu's seasonality. Every plate was exceptionally well balanced allowing the ingredients to do the real talking. As a working pastry chef/student, I can really appreciate the attention to detail that Gracie's kitchen exudes. On August 9th we hope to again enjoy a tasting menu from Gracie's. Kristen enjoyed our prior visit so much, she chose it for her own birthday dinner. I would finally like to thank you and your amazing staff for an exceptional celebration. The service was impeccable and the food was passionate." Sincerely Steven Sands
12/21/06 "I recently had my yearly Christmas visit to Rhode Island to see my family. Last time I wrote I told you how I had brought my mother to Gracie's and then on another trip from Florida brought my girlfriend to your amazing restaurant. This year I took my mother and my sister to dinner before a play at Trinity. On this evening, Molly, was our waitress. As expected, the service was perfect. Molly was more than kind, cheerful and very sweet. Her professional and positive attitude added to the entire dining experience. Of course, the food was as superb as ever. My mother was talking about the meal she had for the next 2 days! My sister, a first time visitor, was more than impressed. Since my last visit I have been to even more 4 and 5 star restaurants but yet nothing compares, I still say Gracie's gets 6 stars in my book. Thank you again and hope to see you soon. I hope everyone has a great holiday season and happy new year and continued success to all at Gracie's. Sincerely, Gene Paniccia
2/5/06 "I visited Gracie's last December with my mother before we attended "A Christmas Carol" at Trinity Rep. My mother and I had Jon as our waiter and I cannot tell you exactly how much of a gentleman and professional he was. Jon truly was a significant part of our pleasurable experience. I would like to point out that throughout the world there is only one hotel with a 6 star rating and it is located in the United Arabs Emirates in the Middle East. I have dined at some of the best 5 star restaurants throughout the East Coast and in Europe and after my dining experience at Gracie's I would say without hesitation this is a 6 star restaurant. I enjoyed Gracie's so much that when I flew my girlfriend, Erin, to Rhode Island to meet my family and celebrate her birthday, we celebrated her birthday at Gracie's. This time we had Brendan as a waiter and I must say that I was not let down. I again had wonderful experience as did my girlfriend. Not only is the food and atmosphere great I had the pleasure of meeting Jon and Brendan, two of the best waiters I've ever met. I sincerely hope both of these gentlemen are recognized for their professionalism and great personalities." Sincerely, Eugene Paniccia & Erin Barnett
10/5/05 "We enjoyed a wonderful seven course tasting menu on September 16th and were delighted to hear our dinner was recorded so no duplications would occur in the future. Each time we are so impressed by the care and quality you put into your restaurant. It truly sets it apart from any other restaurant in Rhode Island and Boston. I also must congratulate you on a wonderful staff of professionals, including but not limited to Jake. At the end of your opening night in the new establishment, we inquired about a menu as a remembrance of the incredible evening. A few days after our inquiry we received and 9' X 11' envelope in the mail from Jake. He remembered our question and took it upon himself to consult with the Chef the next morning. From that discussion he prepared and elegant menu which hangs on our refrigerator even now. That type of personalized service does not exist anywhere in any restaurant I've been to except yours and I thank you for that." Kathy Szpila, Providence RI
7/14/05 "I just wanted to let you know how special we think Gracie's is. My girlfriend and I first came to your Federal Hill location at the end of this past winter, because I always wanted to try the restaurant that was named after my daughter. As soon as we walked in we realized we had stumbled upon a treat. The place was beautiful and the service was warm and impeccable. Too many "fine dining" establishments have servers who are efficient and professional, yet distant. Your servers are just as efficient knowledgeable and professional as any I have ever seen, but they are also friendly, warm, and truly seem to love their jobs. As far as the food goes, you have the best in Rhode Island. You have something special going on at Gracie's. We have been twice since your moved and you have maintained and built upon your excellence. We are so impressed with everything about your restaurant that we have made a pledge to a monthly visit before a play at Trinity and know that it will be the highlight of our month. Thank you and congratulations on a successful move." Paul Bovenzi, West Warwick, RI
